Have You Ever Looked Back on Your Life and Wondered, "Is This All There Is?"

My Story

I remember starting the New Year in January of 2007 feeling dissatisfied.

I'm happily married to the love of my life David, had a thriving practice as a speech language pathologist, and just finished my Doctorate in Education two months earlier.

To be honest, I hated punching into a clock, at work. If there was no clients, I had to go home.

Not only that, I was at the mercy of not being able to take vacations when I wanted to. I also had to work pretty much every holiday.

I felt as if I wasn't impacting the people I meant to impact.

I remember being hooked on infomercials in the mid 1990's with people promoting their work from home opportunities and living a life of freedom.

I always wanted to work from home, but never got around to starting one.

Life Happens FOR You

Tony Robbins says "Life happens FOR you and not to you."

Froom 2008-2011 I had some huge life changes happen that made me start looking at making money from home.

In 2008 my husband lost his job in the Recession and I wound up being the primary income earner.

I had to take a speech therapy job traveling throughout greater Minnesota in order to have enough hours to pay the bills and have health insurance.

I remember working 24 straight days in December 2008 (including weekends) to pay the bills.

I was so burned out that I began to find other ways to supplement my income and couldn't get any traction.

Then in 2010 my dad fell and broke his neck becoming a quadriplegic. He was one year away from retirement.

I spent many sleepless nights thinking we are all one catastrophic accident away from having everything wiped out. My husband was still unemployed at this time.

I kept thinking to myself "How will I be able to provide for my family if I ever got hurt or sick and unable to work?"

Sadly, my dad passed away a year later.

I began my online business and started learning affiliate marketing.

I began having success by hitting the leader boards

I also won awards and recognized on stage. I was interviewed by leaders on podcasts and webinars.

But success came with a price.

I was working crazy hours, putting in full work days at my speech therapy job, while working nights to grow my business.

My health suffered.

I gained 50 pounds, ate junk food, and developed a bad 5 can/day soda pop habit.

Something had to give.

The Game Changer

Diagnosed With Type 2 Diabetes

On January 9, 2017 I was hospitalized with Type 2 Diabetes. My heart rate was 136 beats per minute, my blood pressure was 170/120, and my blood sugars were 480.

As a speech therapist I've treated many patients who had strokes as a result of Type 2 diabetes and it terrified me.

Not only that, Diabetes is very expensive. EVERYTHING costs more, from medications, to health and life insurance.

I remember the first night I was home after being hospitalized for Type 2 Diabetes.

I woke up at 2AM with tears in my eyes and in a cold sweat thinking how I'm going to pay off my medical bills.

To make matters worse, I also found out that I was dropped to part time status at my job and lost my health insurance benefits.

I had two options laid out in front of me.

Option 1) working multiple jobs to pay off my hospital bills and not having any time with my family.

Option 2)  take up my friend's offer to join her network marketing business.

I chose Option 2 and failed MISERABLY....

I made out a list and talked to everyone on that list only to have my friends and family stop taking my calls.
I then went to social media and spammed my opportunity links in Facebook groups and over my social media profile, and wound up getting rejected, blocked, and even thrown into Facebook jail!
I wound up with ZERO leads and making NO money.

I was embarrassed. I had nobody left to talk to. I was in pain and SERIOUS debt. I couldn't even look my husband in the eye.

I began searching for mentors who were in the same situation I was in and were able to create massive success and fulfillment despite the obstacles.

I was introduced to a way of marketing my business that allowed me to leverage social media to attract interested buyers to my business.

No gimmicks. Just being me.

My Life Today

Today my life is much different than it was a few short years ago.

I lost 50 pounds and kicked my soda pop habit to the curb. Haven't drank a soda in 4 years.
I'm wearing clothes that I wore 25 years ago
I went from making leads every couple of weeks to daily using social media working my business into the nooks and crannies of my day
My online business allowed me to pay off my medical bills and gave me time with my family back.

I am so grateful for my home business journey, both the ups and the downs.

I was able to meet so many amazing people that helped me grow across all areas of my live, and every day I'm living my dream of freedom.

If you're looking to grow your business, I have two pieces of advice to share with you.

First, make sure you hire a mentor or coach who has the results you want to help you get started. This will save you time and money. If you would like to be personally coached by me, head over to my Work With Me page to see if you qualify.

Second, just get started. The money comes when you do simple, focused tasks. Don't wait for it to be perfect.

I've been around the block for awhile and have invested a lot of time and money learning marketing.

If you're looking to start building an online business, head on over to My Tools page where I share my best recommendations. These are the tools I use every day to grow my business.
