Are you struggling to build an audience for your home business?
Do you find yourself throwing your hands up in frustration because you see others building an audience that generates sales?
If you've answered "YES" to both of these questions, I have some good news for you.
Today you'll learn 3 simple steps to build an audience from scratch that will transform your business and your life.
How to Build An Audience from Scratch
I remember when I first got started with my business.
I was so excited to get my kit and raring to go.
My sponsor told me to make out the list of "100" - friends, family, people I know, handed me a script and to use it.
And I bombed spectacularly!
I was getting pretty frustrated. I was seeing other people having success and I wasn't.
What was I missing?
Then another friend of mine introduced me to Russell Brunson's book Dot Com Secrets.
In the book, Russell shared that marketing is about a message to market match.
You need to put your product, service, or business opportunity in front of the right people.
That just hit me like a ton of bricks.
My list of 100 didn't have people who would be interested in what I have to offer.
The key to having a successful business in the long term is to be spending time marketing to the right people.
So the question becomes.
Who are my RIGHT PEOPLE?
In the book, he shared a simple 4 step process to build an audience from scratch.
Step #1 to Build an Audience From Scratch: Who is Your Dream Client
Spend some time thinking about this.
In the book Russell makes a powerful point. He says "you should spend time building an audience like you do choosing a spouse."
You have a power of choice.
For selling a product, who do you really want to SERVE?
If you're looking to recruit reps, who do you really want to WORK WITH?
Get clear on that.
Who are they?
What do they look like?
Are they married/single?
Do they have kids?
Where do they work? Do they like their job?
What are their hobbies?
What's their daily routine?
What are their biggest dreams?
What are their biggest problems or fears?
If you're struggling with this, watch this video by John Lee Dumas.
John Lee Dumas spent time at one of Russell Brunson's events sharing how to craft your dream client or avatar.
You can watch his video below. It's one of the best descriptions of a dream customer I ever heard.
Wasn't that video awesome?
Russell takes it a step further.
He didn't create one perfect customer. He created TWO.
A man and a woman.
He also gave them names and found pictures online that looked like his perfect customers.
He then took those pictures placed them in his office where he could see it.
A lot of times when we're marketing online we tend to forget that there's someone on the other side.
When we have a picture of our dream client where we can see them, it helps us create content that speaks only to THEM, not to everyone.
To go into a deeper dive into creating your dream client, I highly suggest you pick up a copy of Russell's book Dot Com Secrets. You can get it for free HERE.
Step #2: Where Do They Hang Out Online?
The second step to building an audience from scratch is to find out where are they hanging out online.
Russell gives some great guiding questions to help you find out where your perfect customers are.
Are you getting excited?
The next logical step is to just focus your time on the one social media platform your audience is.
You can forget everything else, and that includes paid ads in the beginning.
To go into a deeper dive into finding out where your audience is hanging out, I highly suggest you pick up a copy of Russell's book Dot Com Secrets. You can get it for free HERE.
Step #3: What is the Bait You Will Use to Attract Them?
Building an audience from scratch becomes easier when you know who you're dream client is and where they're hanging out online.
The next logical step is to ask yourself how will you attract them to you?
Remember in Step 2 we talked about what's their favorite way to consume content?
That's where you start.
If they like to consume videos, then you'll be doing videos.
If they like to read blog posts, then you'll be creating blog posts.
Russell calls this step the Hook, Story Offer.
He dives into this in more detail in the book which walks you through step-by-step how to get their attention to getting them to say "yes" to what you have to offer.
You can get it for free HERE.
Step #4: What is the Unique Result You Will Create for Them?
The last step in building an audience from scratch is to create a unique result for them
What do you want them to do once you get them hooked?
Do you want to get them to watch a video?
Do you want to them to subscribe to your email list?
Do you want to get them on a ZOOM call?
Are you breathing a sigh of relief right now?
Take some time to go through and answer these 4 questions.
When you do so, you'll set yourself up for success.
