You've heard it said that email marketing is dead.

I beg to differ.

As a matter of fact, if you're not building an email list you're leaving a LOT of money on the table.

Today I'll be sharing with you 10 reasons why you must build an email list in 2021.

The other day I attended an email marketing masterclass held by 3 of the top home business experts: Diane Hochman, Brian Fanale, and Jim Fanale.

All three have built 7 figure businesses using email as their foundation.

Diane starting building her email list in 1999 way before social media came on the scene.

As a matter of fact, she enrolled over 103 people into her business opportunity over the course of 1 week using email as her primary strategy.

Brian and Jim Fanale have made multiple 7-figures in their business using email.

During this training, they shared why email marketing is so important today more than ever. 

I took plenty of notes and here are the 10 reasons why you must build an email list. 

The biggest challenge most home business owners face is time.

You are being pulled in different directions with your job(s), children, and/or taking care of your aging parents.

The key to making money in your online business is following up with your leads.

Following up with your leads does take time when doing it one on one.

It's a fact that 90% of your leads will say "NO" on the initial exposure of your product, service, and/or business opportunity.

According to Grant Cardone, "90% of sales are made between the 5th and 12th follow up".

Do you have the time to follow up with people one on one 5-12 times?

That's the beauty of building an email list.

You write your follow-up emails, upload them to your autoresponder, and your autoresponder will send out those emails to your list for you!

You now can follow up one to many instead of one to one.

It's the ultimate time leverage!

The most successful home business owners follow a 3 step formula.

You BUILD an audience, then ENGAGE your audience, and then you SELL to your audience.

Building an email list does all 3. 

You build your audience while offering a lead magnet (something of value to your audience in exchange for their email address).

Next you engage your audience by providing follow up emails containing more helpful hints, tips, and strategies that will help your audience solve their problem.

Finally, when done correctly, you've built up massive goodwill with your email list when you recommend your product or business, your list will buy from you!

Remember, people do business with those who they know, like, and trust.

Having writer's block about what you're going to write to your list?

Your emails will always offer something of value to your list that will help them in some way solve their problem.

You can send one simple tip that will help them.

Do you know of any YouTube videos, podcasts, blog posts, or stories that will help your audience?

You can also do this.

You can point out something of value in your lead magnet that would be helpful to your audience. 

For example, did you get a chance to read the report on how to lose weight? The 2nd tip I listed helped me stop having sugar crashes after lunch. You'll want to check it out.

When people think of the word "authority", they think of someone with numerous degrees or titles.

Here's the thing. 

You don't need to have an expensive title when you build an email list.

You can demonstrate authority in two ways.

One, by doing a task that your audience wants to learn how to do.

Or second, you know where to find information for your audience.

Remember, your leads don't have the time to do research. They are just as busy as you.

But, if you have taken the time to find the information they're looking for, and you took the time to share it with them in an email, they will see you as the authority.

Pretty powerful, huh?

It appears that email marketing became outdated when social media came on the scene.

Here's the hard truth.

Your social media followers ARE NOT your leads. They belong to the social media network.

Social media platforms can shut you down in a minute's notice.

If they can shut down the President of the United States, they won't hesitate to shut down yours.

Now don't get me wrong.

Social media marketing has it's place.

It's awesome to build your audience.

But, you need to move your social media followers to your email list.

The beauty when you build an email list is it involves permission based marketing.

When someone opts into your email list to get your lead magnet, they are giving you permission to follow up with them with tips, strategies, and product recommendations.

With that said, you can follow up with them as much as you want, until they decide to opt-out of your email list.

During the webinar training, Diane shared a story that made my jaw drop.

Diane was released from the hospital two days prior to the webinar training.

She was hospitalized with COVID and in the intensive care unit.

While hospitalized, she was able to write one email to her list, and made sales.

Diane is the master of creating an engaged email list of BUYERS.

As a matter of fact, in one affiliate program she promotes, she averages $738 in profit PER SIGNUP. 

Think about this wouldn't it be exciting to write one email and wake up the next day to a commission of $738?

What would an extra $738 do for your bank account? Or heck, even an extra $200?

Let's face it life happens.

A family illness.

Job emergency.

A death.

Or even a hospitalization.

When life happens you won't be able to have the time to go out and prospect people on social media, write a blog post, or do a live video.

But, if you've taken the time to build a loyal email audience of buyers, you can create virtual ATM you can tap into whenever you want a little extra cash for you and your family.

Have you ever wondered how the top earners can jump to one company, hit top rank, and get the car bonuses?

All of the top earners build an email list.

They took the time to build an audience and kept engaging that audience via email.

When it came time to join a new company, all they needed to do was write their email list, and their list joined with them.

Building an email list is very easy to do these days and involves little to no tech.

If you can write an email using Gmail, Microsoft Word, or Apple Pages, you can write an email in an autoresponder.

Best part is, writing emails are fun!

Gone are the days where you had to write like you did in high school or college.
