Are your leads entering in fake email addresses to get access to your lead magnet?
In this post I'll show you a simple trick to reduce your email bounce rate and a way to monetize it!
What is an Email Bounce Rate?
Webopedia defines a bounce rate as "the percentage of email addresses in your subscriber list that didn't receive your message because it was returned by a recipient email server."
In other words, if someone misspells their email address or puts in a fake email address that is a bounced email.
Why is the Email Bounce Rate So Important?
People are online savvy these days.
They know that most lead capture pages go directly to the information they want, and don't want to receive even MORE email.
With that said, they will put in a fake email address to get the information.
This is not good in two ways.
First, if you have a email bounce rate greater than 2% it will affect your email deliverability rate.
That is, your emails will wind up in people's junk or spam folders where people will NEVER see it!
Second, those undeliverable emails are still being counted and stored by your autoresponder, which will affect how much you pay.
Your undeliverable emails could put you into a higher payment plan.
That's why it's so important to at least once per month clean up your email list and get rid of your undeliverable emails.

How to Reduce Your Email Bounce Rate
So how do you reduce your email bounce rate?
It all starts with making a change to your lead capture page funnel.
On the lead capture page, put a simple instruction to tell them to put their best email address.
Once people, put in their email address, instead of taking them to a the download page where they get the information, create a thank you page.
The thank you page should contain the following information.
First, it should thank them for opting in and letting them know that you sent the information right to their email box.
Second, tell them to head over to their email and look for your email - tell them what the subject line is so they can easily find it.
Make sure to tell them if they don't see it to check their junk or spam folder and to make sure to add you to their email list.
Third, tell them to open the email and click on the link to get access to the lead magnet they requested.
Finally, put your email address on your thank you page to let them know if they have any questions.

Most lead capture page software programs have thank you page templates. All you have to do is put in your information and you're good to go!
How to Monetize Your Thank You Page
If you have a great lead magnet that your prospect really wants, they will go back and put in their real email address.
Now I have a question for you.
How would you like to monetize this thank you page for some quick cash?
What you want to do is put at the bottom of your thank you page is a special offer that they won't get anywhere else (see image below).
If you have a product that is congruent with your lead magnet, you can offer it at a discount.
You should keep the offer under $20.
This is also very powerful.
Why?
First, when your prospect buys something they will put in their real email address to get access to their purchase.
Second, you are creating a BUYER'S list. If someone buys a low ticket offer from you and it's a high quality product that solves their problem, they will continue to buy higher ticket items from you in the future!
If you follow these steps outlined in this post, you'll not only reduce your email bounce rate, but you'll also make some quick cash in the process.
