Emails That Sell Leaves Clues
You've probably familiar with the phrase "success leaves clues".
Email marketing takes its lead from direct response marketing.
Have you ever received "junk mail" in your mailbox or ever watch an "infomercial" on late night television?
Junk mail and infomercials are nothing more than direct response advertising which has a specific call to action to make people want to buy from you.
Now people hate blatant sales pitches especially on email.
BUT...
The best email copywriters know how to structure an email that sounds conversational, but guides the reader to pull out their wallet and buy from you.
So here are the 2 secrets that will help you write emails that sell. They are not all that glamorous, but they are super effective.
Emails That Sell Tip #1: Collect Emails
The first thing you should do is get on the email list of some of the best internet marketers in the home business industry.
Some that I follow are Russell Brunson, Diane Hochman, Frank Kern, and Ben Settle.
These four marketers are also experts at writing emails.
They became experts at email writing by studying emails and other direct mail.
As a matter of fact, when Russell Brunson got started, he collected boxes and boxes of junk mail.
Without studying those pieces of junk mail, he would've never started ClickFunnels.
You want to get on their email lists.
Create separate folders for each of those writers in your email box.
You can also do Google Search or YouTube search to create automated rules within your email box to send those emails directly to those folders without cluttering up your inbox!
Spend time going through those emails - no more than 15-30 minutes/day.
If you find an email that resonates with you and read it 10 times, 5 times silently, followed by 5 times out loud.
Why?
You're going to develop an ear to what good copy sounds like and feels like.
Emails That Sell Tip #2: Write the Emails
After you've read those emails, then you want to write them out on a sheet of paper 3 times.
Yes, you heard me right three times.
Why?
We're tapping into "rote learning".
Rote learning is more than just memorizing or writing things down word for word.
We're unlocking intuitive learning.
You're going to understand those little nuances in email that really stand out.
For example:
Repetition is the mother of all skill.
Did you know that back in ancient Greece, the primary method of instruction was imitating great masters?
Remember the movie "The Karate Kid?"
Mr. Miyagi had his student Daniel Russo learn karate by imitating simple moves until it became natural (remember, "wax on, wax off?").
