5 Phases to Becoming an Expert

I remember being so frustrated in the beginning when I first started my business.

I would model what the top earners were doing but not seeing any results, and thinking to myself, "the only way people will listen to me is if I am making the big bucks or earned the next rank."

Then I picked up a copy of Expert Secrets by Russell Brunson, and he walked me through the 5 phases to becoming an expert.

It's not merely sharing your knowledge. Being an expert is all about finding your voice to build your tribe so you can leave an impact on the world.

Expert Phase 1: The Dreamer

Becoming an expert starts with you. It's all about sharing your passion.

To find your passion you go through a series of steps.

First you find something that interests you. 

Then you do a deep dive into it to the point where you become obsessed with it.

That obsession then leads to mastery. And you can't rush mastery.

Here's the key takeaway. 

You can share what you've learned, but what attracts others to you is the passion you share with them.

Think about the teachers you've had in your life. The ones you learned from the most had a passion for what they taught.

What are you passionate about in your niche that you want to share with the world?

Expert Phase 2: Become a Reporter

The next step is to learn different points of view on the topic you're passionate about.

You start to follow other experts in your niche. 

You subscribe to their YouTube channels, listen to their podcasts, read their blogs.

Then at some point we begin to sense a shift in ourselves where we want to contribute by sharing our insights with others.

We begin to start creating our own content.

Maybe it's a blog post, YouTube video, FB Live, Reel, or instagram post.

Expert Phase 3: Create a Framework

Phase 3 of becoming an expert is what Russell calls building a framework.

What is the framework that your audience needs to follow to get a result?

Your product is part of the framework.

For example, Russell teaches people how to create sales funnels - which is the framework. 

ClickFunnels, his product is part of the framework that people will use to get the result.

Russell says your framework should fit into this sentence "My_____Step Framework (System, Process) for __________(insert result)"

Expert Phase 4: Work for Free Serving Your Dream Clients

In this phase you will need to test your frame work to see if others will get similar results.

This is where you get a group of beta testers.

Russell says to shift your focus from "how do I sell more product" to "how do I serve more people?"

Expert Phase 5: Becoming the Expert

Russell says that he became a 7 figure earner despite poor grades in school.

His says "my results are my certification."

Remember this, an expert is the person who is one step ahead of everyone else.

The people you are sharing your knowledge with are not at your level yet and are aspiring to be there.

You are their guide.

Guide them to the next step.

As Zig Ziglar says "Take a person as far as they can see. When they get there they will be able to see further."
